Our Monthly Mentoring Forum
Welcome to our Monthly Mentoring Q&A Forum! Monthly Mentoring Forums are an exclusive opportunity for CNS candidates enrolled in our Supervised Practice Experiences Membership. Our Mentoring Forums are designed to help new nutrition professionals grow, develop professional qualities and help them succeed in their internship and future career. Mentoring Forums include topics that support on how to enhance success in our internship program such as time management, marketing & recruiting, networking & professional opportunity search, logging hours and sharing the mentor’s own experiences. Our diversified mentors include our staff, supervisors or our more experienced CNS candidates who are excellent in providing comfort and advice to any intern, specifically those newer in our internship.
Monthly Mentoring Q&A Forums are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 8 PM EST
Some of the areas we can support CNS candidates in our Monthly Mentoring Q&A Forums are:
Building professional confidence
Stepping into the world of Functional & Integrative Nutrition can be overwhelming, but having a mentor to guide, encourage, and provide feedback makes all the difference. Our mentors help CNS candidates navigate challenges in real time, fostering confidence in their decision-making and patient interactions.
Emotional and professional support
The CNS candidate journey is demanding—from rigorous coursework to the internship and CNS exam. Having a regular mentor provides not just professional guidance but also emotional support, reassurance, and motivation. A strong mentor-mentee relationship can help CNS candidates stay resilient and passionate about their career path.
Learning and skill development
Functional Nutrition is a field that thrives on practical application. Whether it’s learning how to conduct nutrition assessments, providing patient counseling, or developing meal plans, real-world experience is essential. Our mentoring sessions offer interns the chance to ask questions to help refine their skills in live clinical settings and aid in developing clinical judgement.
Networking and other opportunities
Personal connections often lead to other opportunities such as observation and shadowing opportunities for those CNS candidates who are newer to the program.. A mentor can introduce CNS candidates to key job resources that might not be accessible through online networking alone.
